Natural Gas &

Blue Hydrogen

As part of our commitment to green energy, SJE has pioneered innovative technologies in natural gas and blue hydrogen to help build a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. Our efforts support energy alternatives, mitigate climate change, and promote strong corporate ESG practices.

Clean Energy

Achieving NetZero At The Well Site.

As the world faces increasing demands for energy, the development of technologies to create clean fuels like Blue Hydrogen helps to address the challenges of sustainability, regulatory compliance, and changing market dynamics, positioning Oil & Gas companies as active participants in the global energy transition.

Solving The Stranded Gas Problem

Stranded natural gas refers to reserves located in remote or inaccessible areas, making extraction and transportation economically unfeasible. Often found in areas like isolated regions or deep underground, these gas reserves remain untapped due to the high costs of developing infrastructure.

Advancements in technology, such as SJE’s Blue H2 Production Box, offer potential solutions to make stranded gas more viable. These innovations open new opportunities for energy production in regions that were previously out of reach.

Advantages of Blue H2
  • Converting a traditional fossil fuel to a clean source of energy
  • Captures and stores CO2 – up to 1,300 MT per year per unit
  • A zero emissions transition fuel for heavy industry currently reliant on traditional fossil fuels
  • Quickly implemented using existing technology
  • Cost effective
  • Affordability accelerated by the Inflation Reduction Act Section 45V for investment and production incentives.

SJE has created a more sustainable biofuel that will help shrink landfills and reduce CO2 emissions on a measurable scale.

How We Convert Stranded Natural Gas to Blue H2?

  • Extraction: Isolate stranded natural gas from remote locations using advanced drilling techniques.
  • Transport: Transport the extracted gas via pipelines, ships, or liquefaction to processing facilities.
  • Reforming: Use steam methane reforming (SMR) or autothermal reforming (ATR) to convert natural gas into hydrogen.
  • CO2 Capture: Implement carbon capture technologies to capture the CO2 emissions produced during the reforming process.
  • Storage: Store the captured CO2 in underground geological formations or other secure sites.
  • Purification: Purify the hydrogen to remove impurities, ensuring it meets quality standards.
  • Distribution: Deliver the produced blue hydrogen to end-users via pipelines, tankers, or fueling stations.
Benefits of Modular blue hydrogen (H2) production
  • Scalable: Easily adjustable to meet demand.
  • Cost-Effective: Cuts transportation and infrastructure costs.
  • Lower Emissions: Captures carbon during production.
  • Fast Deployment: Quick to install and operationalize.
  • Energy Security: Supports localized, decentralized production.
